The company was founded in Nowe T³oki on October 28th, 1988, by Ireneusz Nawrot. At the beginning it functioned as a Horticultural and Mushroom Farm, and the production was based on growing mushrooms for processing only. It was only when the first contacts with foregin schools were held, that made it possible to start using the technology of cultivating mushrooms for the „ fresh” market. One of such schools is, for example, in Horst.
High-quality white mushrooms of the Nawrot company come from the mushroom spawns of such companies as: Sylvan, Spyra Mushroom Spawns Laboratory, Italspawn, Amycel and Polmycel.
Compost, i.e. the breeding-ground for mushroom cultivation is supplied by: Karwacki, Mykogen, Stec, Wrona, Hajduk, Fungis and Interchamp. However, the precursors in compost delivery were Pilzhof from Wallhausen, CNC and Verschoor.
Thanks to our own production, as well as strict technological rules, our products have been rewarded on the markets of Western Europe.
Our first trials of mushrooms exportation to Germany took place in 1996. In the European Union`s countries we could see trucks marked: „ Champignons, Spargel, Waldfrüchte”, which was the slogan of Nawrot.
It is two years now since the goods with the „ Nawrot Food” logo have been appearing in supermarkets of Western Europe. German customers are more and more often used to say: „Pilze von Nawrot”. Thanks to its European standards in wholesale trade, as well as promoting Polish horticultural and gardening products, Nawrot quickly became the leader on Europe`s trade map. Sometimes it has been the main supplier for catering businesses, wholesalers and supermarkets in the European Union. Each piece of our goods in carefully controlled as regards quality. At present we export 97,96 % of our whole sales, which means 50 tons of mushrooms per week. Our main products are the following: white mushroom- Champignon; brown mushroom- braune Champignons; oyster mushroom- Austernpilze; shii-take; asparagus; chanterelle- Pfifferlinge, which constitutes a delicacy in German cuisine; blueberries and other vegetables and fruit.
Nawrot Ltd. has many partners in other countries, it participates in the most important fairs, and employs experienced business men. It also has its own warehouse and means of transport (the Volvo mark, in particular). Our most important partners are: Heveco, Banken, Limax, The Greenery, Bomelafungi. We also stay in touch with representatives of the German Association „Obst und Gemüße”.
We are the first mushroom cultivating company to have gained the right for marking fresh mushrooms with the „Good because Polish” emblem. For two years together Nawrot Ltd. became the prize-winner at the Way for Success Competition.
In December 2002 it received a diploma for winning the ”Europaen Company” competition, which was organized for small and middle-sized enterprises, and was conducted under the auspices of the Minister for European Affairs, prof. Danuta Hübner.
In May 2003, Nawrot Ltd. is going to finish its preparations for the ISO 9001 quality system and the HACCP system, in order to strengthen its position in the European Union`s countries and gain new customers, as well.
